Obituaries

Jeanne E. Dollard (’46), 80, died April 20, 2008, in Syracuse. A graduate of Syracuse University, Jeanne retired from WTVH-5 after 30 years. She was an avid golfer and skier and enjoyed sailing. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Unity Kitchens. She is survived by many relatives and friends.

Russell D. Sawyer (’46), 80, of New Woodstock, died August 19, 2008. Russell worked in the family business, Sawyer Industries, Inc., until his retirement in 2002, and retired from the US Naval Reserve as a Commander. He was an avid reader and a student of history, particularly the Civil War. He loved his camp on Raquette Lake. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, several grandchildren, and his sister Mary Haswell.

Murray M. Serling (’46), 80, of Fayetteville, died November 3, 2008. He attended Syracuse University and served in the US Marine Corps. He was employed in sales for many years and retired from Onondaga County. He was an avid golfer and was club champion at Green Lakes Golf Course in 1964, president of Cazenovia Country Club in 1970 and 1971, and former member of Pompey Hills Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Jean, three children, and several grandchildren.
