Saralee Hart Fisher ('56), 72, of Fayetteville, passed away after a long illness, Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Leona A. and Earl E. Hart. For many years Saralee was a retail manager. Most recently she worked in Dr. William Patrick's office in Fayetteville. Saralee was a graduate of Nottingham High School and attended Syracuse University. She was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. Survived by her husband, Harvey Fisher. A loving mother to her three daughters, Paula King, Joy King, and Amy (Blake) Hiott; brother, Howard (Helene) Hart; twin sister, Rosalee (Carl) Jahn; six grandchildren, Brianna Adams, Alan King, Logan Woodard, Lily, Eli, and Emma Hiott; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ellie Adams.
L. Michael "Mickey" Blumin ('56), 72, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning, January 14, 2011. He was a graduate of Nottingham High School and a member of the Class of 1961 at Syracuse University. Mickey retired in 1998 as president of Rubbish Removal, Inc., a company he devoted his entire professional life to. He was active in numerous professional organizations such as the Steering Committee of the NY Chapter of National Waste, the Onondaga County Waste Management Board and the DeWitt Rotary Club. Mickey was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. He enjoyed boating at Lakeshore Country Club and Onondaga Lake Park Marina. An avid SU sports fan and supporter, he was a member of the Dave Bing Club; served on the SU Athletic Board of Directors, was a past president of the Hardwood Club, and a member of the Chancellor's Council. He was predeceased by his parents, Sol and Mildred Blumin; his first wife, Wendie; and his sister, Joanne. Mickey is survived by his wife, Shaun; two sons, Kyle (Nicole), and Jeffrey (Laura); his sister, Marlene; his stepson, R.J. Nicolli Jr.; his stepdaughter, Kellyn Nicolli; and his grandchildren, Katherine, Jane, and William.
Ridgely P. Brown (’56), 68, died December 17, 2006, in Grand Junction, CO. He was a Navy fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and retired as a captain with Continental Airlines.
