Obituaries

Bradley S. Wladis ('60), 66, of Syracuse, NY, died September 10, 2009 after a very courageous battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Brad was a proud graduate of Nottingham High School. He was a graduate of Auburn Community College, and he also attended Syracuse University. In 1970, Brad opened Brad's Brews, Victuals and Stews on Crouse Avenue on the S.U. campus. He owned and operated this funky grocery store for 15 memorable years… lots of fun for lots of people. He also owned and operated The Party Source from 1977 until 1998. For the past 11 years, he had worked for Syracuse Securities as a mortgage originator. (EC, David and Larry Smith are some of the kindest people on this earth.) Brad was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and the Hardwood Club, where he served as president at one time. Brad was an avid S.U. sports fan and attended every Big East tournament. Brad is survived by his fiancée, Kathleen Cirina, of Roslyn, NY; his son, Jeremy (Paula Seefeldt), and his daughter, Laine Wladis (Ben Kaminow), both of Manhattan; his sister, Sue Greenberg of Chapel Hill, NC; his brother, George (Roberta) of Fayetteville; and his four grandchildren, Kenna, Lucas, Rose and Tate of Manhattan.

Donna Elizabeth Nichols Ruva (’60), 64, of Palm Harbor, FL, died April 6, 2007. She was a recreational therapist, working at Van Duyn until 1986. She is survived by her husband, son, and daughter.
