Hanah Ehrenreich (’99) invited two men to join her parents’ Passover seder, as a result of her work with Syrajews, a group of young Jewish professionals in the Syracuse area. The group wants to provide opportunities for young professionals who may not live near their families to celebrate Jewish holidays.

December 17, 2007

Hannah Ehrenreich (’99), 26, has returned home to Syracuse after working or studying in Belfast, Israel, Washington DC, and London. She speaks of opportunities opening up here, which is the basis of a “Come Home to Syracuse” gathering scheduled for December 27. It will be a combination homecoming party and job fair to try to keep people in the area.

September 30, 2007

David Lester (’99) participated in an anti-war rally in Syracuse September 29. He is part of a group of active-duty or former service members organizing the anti-war rally. David was an active-duty soldier from 2000 to 2003 but did not serve overseas. He is on ready reserve status with the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. The rally drew an estimated 2,500 – 3,000 people.

HSBC employees are investing more in Nottingham students this year. A dozen volunteers from the bank have been giving presentations of careers in banking, the stock market, checking accounts, and they will be doing mock interviews.  Sangwani Mabehena (’99) has been with the program since it started.  He is now assistant branch manager and small business specialist at the Fairmount bank office.
